Watchers

September, again

Mon Sep 24, 2007, 6:59 AM
After my old hobby, this thing called "art", found me again – after a spring of growing inspiration, a desperately creative summer, a couple of painful losses and a couple of silent blessings gradually coming to stay in my life – I, for my part, have found a increasing pile of "might finish some day" works on my hard drive, in my desk drawers and scattered on the floor.

What's more, I have found I'm probably going to be a Bachelor of Arts next spring. :0 I'm guessing the rest of the year might be spent in libraries and lectures instead of behind the camera and palette. Not that I wouldn't feel happy studying… actually, I'm thrilled to have the chance, seeing how just a while ago I was getting depressed thinking of having to spend a gap year.

I'm just bad at finishing things. I'm hoping at least the Bachelor's thesis will be finished without greater problems, but let's hope I'll finish a deviation every now and then too – secretly I've loved being back in the dA community again.

Saw your forum post that you are interested in Japonisme and European influence on Eastern art. Japonisme is one of my areas of study.

Really? Where can you specialize in that? It's an interesting subject but I can't say it's salient here in University of Helsinki.

I am doing my doctorate in French literature, and am specializing in representations of Japan and Japanese culture in 19th century literature. As part of my dissertation, I need to be very well versed in Japonisme.

Haha, seriously seriously?
I always thought it can't be a bad name since the coffee shop guy in Friends, at least one anime character and a truly fightening singer all share it.
And you know, now I really want to see that character of yours!

Hey, I was looking through profiles for people interested in Piano and came across your profile. I've just opened a phpBB forum for pianists/piano enthusiasts to discuss music (and just about anything). The forum is complete with various features such as a flash games arcade. Since we're just starting out, some new members would be great. I'm also looking for sensible users as global moderators / moderators. If you fancy checking us out, visit [link] and sign up, totally free. Take care ;)
